Maternity Tights Give Needed Support During Pregnancy
Posted by: Seamless Socks Devotee In: compression hose
Twenty percent of women will get varicose veins during pregnancy. This is because of all the extra weight, pressure and blood flowing through a woman’s body.
Avoid Leg Edema
A woman’s body should have compression support during pregnancy. There are maternity tights available that are much like pantyhose. They compress the woman’s legs, hips, back and stomach to help decrease high blood pressure in the veins. High blood pressure causes swelling and discomfort called leg edema. Maternity tights help the blood flow more easily and not clot and bulge in one place, causing varicose veins and leg edema.
Compression hose are seamless and light. They are comfortable for women to wear because of all the heft and unbalance they feel when in their heavier months of pregnancy. Compression hose will also take some of the strain from the lower abdomen and back. This strain is felt obviously because of the added weight from the fetus but also because twice the amount of blood is flowing through her body and putting pressure in her pelvis and legs.
When you are pregnant be sure to find maternity tights to wear on days where you have to stand or sit for long amounts of time. This causes blood to pool in one area and eventually bulge in the veins. Seamless socks, maternity tights or compression hose will alleviate this pressure and help you get through your pregnancy comfortably.
